Hitting the headlines in The Wall Street Journal

I hit the headlines in American, European, British and Scandinavian media in April 2009 with my study of Finnish Business Daily, Taloussanomat. The main purpose of the study was to investigate the online-only newspaper business model, as well as study the impact of online models on journalistic practices.

• Reporter Andrew LaVallee blogged about the study in The Wall Street Journal.
• British newspaper, The Guardian published the headline: Research: Going web-only could kill your newspaper”.The Guardian published the headline: Research: Going web-only could kill your newspaper”.
• News agency AFP put out the story: “Web-only newspapers? Don’t junk the presses yet”.

My Finnish targeted professional blogging site, Lontoocalling.com, has also been creating a lot of interest in the Finnish media since I developed and launched it in January 2009. For example Kainuun Sanomat published a large article about in February 2009. Kainuun Sanomat is one of the large regional newspapers in Finland.

Lontocalling.com stories are regularly picked up by the online-only, Finnish news site uusisuomi.fi where many have been their lead & most read stories. I am one of Uusisuomi’s team of professional bloggers.

Columns in other media:

I have been writing columns for a number of different news and web-sites but the main outlet for my columns and editorials has been lontoocalling.com since January 2009. In February 2009 I wrote a quest column for Finnish TAT about recession and growing nationalism in Britain with the headline: “Taantuman toinen puoli: kasvava nationalismi”.
